2011 News...
Bob
received a Gold Award for landscape design from the Wisconsin
Landscape Association in 2011 for his design work with Landworks,
inc. As coach, he is planning a winning season for Kendra’s
basketball team this year. Zannah became a leader for the 4-H
Photography Project and really enjoyed (and learned a lot) from
working with the kids over the course of the season. She was also
very pleased to have the opportunity to write several gardening
articles for the county newspaper as well as being invited as a
guest editorialist in the premier issue of the new ‘Wisconsin
Gardening’ magazine. Her winning entry in a local photo contest won
her a family portrait sitting, showcased in our Christmas card.
(thank you, Perren
Photography!).

2010 News...
It was the big 5-0 for Bob
this year! We had a very nice gathering of friends, both old and
new, out at the cottage. Zannah traveled with her sister, Laila, to
their uncle's memorial service in May and was re-united with family
members not seen in decades. It was joyful and sad all at the same
time. The family took a wonderful vacation to the sand dunes of Lake
Michigan in August and it was a great bonding experience with fun
had by all.

2009 News...
Bob & Zannah
were delighted to have their Prairiewynd Gardens
featured in Milwaukee Home & Fine Living magazine in September.
Zannah had the opportunity to develop a number of websites in 2009 (Bobrowitz
Sculpture,
Wisconsin
Cage Bird Club,
Hartford
Music Lessons). Despite the poor economy Bob achieved his sales goal
with Landworks and continues to grow in a positive direction with
that company. Zannah is still an avid photographer and was excited
to have one of her daylily photos purchased by a major horticultural
supply company for use on their garden labels. The annual family
camping trip was particularly pleasant this year, with Landon &
Kendra exploring together with laughter and goodwill. On a sadder
note, B & Z lost a dear friend and neighbor suddenly on
October
21st at the age of 50. His death serves as a reminder to savor the
moment, enjoy the sunshine, express your true feelings and live each
day to the fullest.

2008 News...
2008 started out with Zannah traveling to
California to spend a relaxing week in the desert sun with Donald &
Mary. In April she presented a program at the Milwaukee Art Museum
as past of their inaugural “Art in Bloom” event. Zannah’s biker
cousin visited for Milwaukee’s 105th Harley Fest in August, much to
the delight of all. Bob continues to head up the Landscape division
of Landworks and has had some wonderful opportunities this past year
to work on high profile designs and installations. Zannah still
plugs along at Monches Farm and at Fireside Books, earning almost
enough to buy the weekly groceries. She has been gratified to have
been entrusted with developing a few new websites and enjoys that
process immensely. You can view her professional site at
www.zcsite.com. |

2007 News....
In August we traveled to Aspen Colorado for a wedding
and had a lovely family vacation there among the magnificent
mountains. The Prairiewynd Gardens were on the West Bend Summer
Garden Tour again this year and we enjoyed 320 visitors on a single
day. We were excited to have the Midwest “scout” for Better Homes &
Gardens Magazine come in late summer to shoot photos of the gardens
for submission to editors for consideration.
Bob
continues to enjoy his job as a Landscape architect with Landworks
and had his work recognized by Milwaukee Magazine with two
landscape awards this year.
Zannah
is still with Monches Farm and Fireside Books. She is working on
developing her web design skills and was thrilled to have the
opportunity to develop a website for a friend’s business this past
year (www.lindquistlandscape.com).
She’s looking for more experience of this type if anyone out there
has been thinking about starting a web presence for their business!

2006
News...
Our
family thoroughly enjoyed hosting a Japanese exchange student,
fourteen year old
Tatsuya, over the summer. Despite a complete spoken
language barrier we communicated just fine with this delightful young man.
Our Prairiewynd Gardens were
included in the Daylily Society Garden Tour in July and it was a pleasure to
meet other avid gardeners through that venue.
Bob
contributed to an article in Milwaukee Home Magazine about created
“outdoor rooms” and has been busy coaching his kids sports teams and
landscaping prominent Milwaukee addresses. He continues to enjoy his work
with Landworks.
Zannah
tried her hand at coaching with Landon’s “Mind
Challengers” academic school team and had a great time. She was a
speaker at the fall Garden Trends Symposium at the Milwaukee Botanic Gardens
and was pleased to have a feature article published in the summer issue of
Wisconsin Country Life Magazine. She is still working with the local
independent bookstore several days a week in addition to her work with
Monches Farm. Zannah's latest venture has been learning website design and
she is now “webmaster” of four websites :
www.monchesfarm.com (one of her employers),
www.dssew.org (Daylily Society of
Southeastern Wisconsin),
www.lindquistlandscape.com
(a friend's landscape business) and www.prairiewynd.com (our personal site).
